Sacred Song Satsang
"Incredible! The soothing sound of your voice, the positive and empowering words, and the beautifully heartfelt devotion of the practice you shared was a wonderful addition to our spiritual gathering." - The Portland New Church
Todd Glacy "Namaste'" performance at the 2015 Posi Music Awards, Tampa, FL.
Satsang is a Sanskrit word that means "gathering together for the truth”. Whenever something increases our experience of the Truth, it opens our heart and quiets our mind. Singing and chanting are practices which can increase our experience of Truth. These Sacred Songs have been born out of my own meditation practice as a form of musical mantra, a way of helping affirm and integrate the wisdom they contain by attaching the words to a simple melody and song to help us remember them (multi-sensory learning!) They are universal in nature and appropriate for all faiths and traditions.
It is important to note that, similar to the tradition of kirtan, they are not primarily intended to be experienced as a performer - audience style of "entertainment", but rather a co-created contemplative practice intended to help quiet our mind, affirm and empower our thoughts, and lead us back to the place of silence and stillness where we can “tune in” to the Truth within us all.
